Wyoming Coal Mines
welcome to:

If you are using electricity right now, you can most likely thank in
part, Wyoming Coal mines. Wyoming is America’s number one coal
producer, and exports coal to 35 other states for power production.
As you drive across Wyoming, you will see long trains moving
across the landscape transporting thousands of tons of coal to
various destinations.
The Powder River Basin in North Eastern Wyoming is literally
saturated with shallow coal seams. Open pit mines in the region
extract millions of tons of coal per year. Coal companies extract the
coal, then follow strict regulations to reclaim the land exactly as it
was before.

for area residents in places like Gillette and Sheridan. Industries

engineering companies, and countless suppliers. Local retailers
benefit tremendously from the coal industry as well.

State’s budget. Wyoming has a budget surplus, which enables the
state to have some of the newest and best schools, infrastructure,
and public services. There is little doubt that Wyoming coal mines
are good for Wyoming, and good for America.
