Wyoming Energy Production
welcome to:

Wyoming energy production has skyrocketed in recent years. Who
would have imagined just two years ago that gas prices would climb
over $3 a gallon at the pump? What about natural gas prices? Natural
gas accounts for 25 percent of energy consumption in the United
States. Wyoming coal provides electricity for the population centers
on the East and West coasts.
Wyoming has become the nation’s biggest energy producer. The state
ranks #1 in Coal production, #7in crude oil production, and has the
second largest natural gas reserves in the nation. High demand for
energy has forced energy producers to find new ways to extract deep
reserves of natural gas and oil. The boom has been great for
Wyoming. Energy revenues for the state have climbed into the billions
of dollars.
With all of this energy production there are many benefits. Wyoming
residents pay no state income tax. Businesses pay no state corporate
income tax, or inventory tax. Wyoming has the lowest unemployment
rate in the nation. Royalties from energy production allow Wyoming to
build and maintain some of the best schools, best roads, and provide
the best law enforcement for its residents.
Wyoming energy production shows no signs of slowing down. The
world political climate and population expansion drive demand up.
Unfortunately, fossil fuels are non-renewable resources. Wyoming is
in a great position with its huge reserves of fossil fuels. The state’s
economy will likely grow even in a national recession, because energy
demand will not likely decrease.
